Seminar: New Zealand Corruption The Serious Fraud Office's View

On July 2, 2012 we held two simultaneous seminars from the Serious Fraud Office.

We offered members and attendees with a chance to hear from the SFO and be part of the conversation in Auckland and Wellington.

The seminars "New Zealand Corruption - The Serious Fraud Offices' View. Can the perception that New Zealand is the least corrupt be maintained?" were lead by Adam Feeley in Auckland and Nick Paterson in Wellington. Adam Feeley is Chief Executive and Director of the Serious Fraud Office and Nick Paterson is General Manager, Fraud & Corruption.

Seminar on Open Government

On Monday 5, March TI-NZ hosted a seminar on 'Open Government.'

Keitha Booth, Programme Leader, NZ Open Government Data and Information Programme, described the programme and its achievements, in particular the Declaration on Open and Transparent Government and the NZ Government Open Access and Licensing framework (NZGOAL). She discussed actions by government agencies to implement the Declaration. The current focus is on releasing Government's high value public data that people, communities, and businesses want to use and re-use.

Mai Chen Seminar May 7th

Recap of the Mai Chen TI-NZ Seminar 7th May 2012.

Mai opened her presentation by asserting that “The future is coming to Transparency International New Zealand.” Her new book, The Public Law Toolbox, was, Mai said, mainly about transparency and accountability in government.
