Gurdeep Talwar is an accomplished senior leader, Certified Management Consultant, and payments industry professional with extensive experience in governance, strategic oversight, and financial management.

A postgraduate from a UK university, Gurdeep masterminded the groundbreaking $64 billion economic contribution report by ethnic communities in New Zealand in 2021, the first of its kind. He was the first person of colour to serve as the President of the Institute of Management Consultants New Zealand (IMCNZ). Gurdeep also serves on the Global Governance and Nomination Committee of the International Council of Management Consulting Institutes (ICMCI) in Switzerland, reflecting his global leadership impact.

As a passionate globetrotter, Gurdeep’s international travels have broadened his understanding of global business practices, diverse cultures, and cross-border governance. He has held leadership roles across sectors including safety, healthcare, and technology, with a strong understanding of corporate governance, director responsibilities, and stakeholder engagement. He serves as a funding panellist at the Ministry for Ethnic Communities and sits on the National Trust Board of Community Patrols of New Zealand.

His commercial acumen and financial literacy enable him to provide effective oversight of organisational sustainability and strategic planning. A committed advocate for the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi, he values diversity and is skilled in relationship-building and communication. Gurdeep is eager to contribute to Transparency International NZ’s mission by leveraging his governance expertise to support its ongoing success and community impact.
