Philippa Yasbek is an economist with a background in public policy and a career in the public service. She recently authored "Shining a Light: Improving transparency in New Zealand's political and governance systems" for the Helen Clark Foundation, which recommends improvements in the domains of lobbying, political party funding, access to official information, beneficial ownership information and full criminalisation of overseas bribery.
Philippa also has an interest in public health and co-founded a group advocating for firearms safety. She is the Deputy Chair of the Ministerial Arms Advisory Group and a Member of the Advisory Committee for Global Action on Gun Violence. Philippa is a former Board member of the Holocaust Centre of New Zealand and former Chair of the body corporate of an earthquake prone building.
Philippa is currently self-employed as a consultant.
